These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of vanguardoptimization.com (the "Service"), operated by Vanguard Optimization, a service of Crawford Medical, LLC ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or paying for a subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

What Vanguard Optimization Is — and Isn't

Vanguard Optimization is a physician-led educational membership platform focused on men's health, hormonal optimization, longevity, supplementation, metabolic health, and preventive care. The content we publish — including monographs, protocol summaries, newsletters, the AI assistant, and member-tier resources — is educational, grounded in published scientific research and curated by licensed physicians.

Vanguard Optimization is not:

  • a telehealth or telemedicine service
  • a prescribing service
  • a medical provider, clinic, or covered entity under HIPAA
  • a substitute for personal medical care from a licensed clinician

We do not establish a doctor-patient relationship with members. We do not diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, recommend specific doses, or create individualized treatment plans for any member. All content is general education intended to help you have better-informed conversations with your own licensed clinicians and to understand the published evidence behind health interventions.

Medical Disclaimer

The information on the Service is provided for educational purposes only and is not intended as, and should not be relied on as, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified, licensed physician before starting, stopping, or modifying any supplement, medication, hormone, peptide, diet, exercise program, or other health intervention. Do not delay seeking medical advice because of something you read on the Service.

The Vanguard AI assistant is an educational tool only. It is not a physician, does not provide medical advice, and is incapable of diagnosing conditions or recommending treatments for any specific individual. Any questions about your personal health, lab results, dosing, symptoms, drug interactions, or whether a particular intervention applies to your situation must be directed to a licensed clinician.

Accounts and Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or subscribe. By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you are the person you claim to be. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation

We offer three membership tiers:

  • Free — newsletter access and selected foundational content; no charge
  • Optimized — $20/month or $200/year; full guide library, AI assistant, supplement stack tracker (up to 20 entries)
  • Vanguard — $50/month or $500/year; everything in Optimized plus physician Q&A, protocol reviews, lab guidance, and unlimited stack tracking

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually depending on the plan you selected). Your payment method on file with Stripe will be charged automatically. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period, and you retain access until then.

Prices may change with at least 30 days' advance notice to active subscribers.

Refund Policy

We offer a 7-day, no-questions-asked refund on your first payment. If within 7 days of your initial charge (monthly or annual) you decide the Service is not for you, cancel from your account settings and email us at [email protected] to request a refund of that first charge. We will issue a full refund and close your access.

After the first 7 days, cancellation stops future charges but does not refund the current billing period. We do not provide partial refunds for unused portions of a billing period. Subsequent renewals (after the initial payment) are non-refundable.

In rare cases involving extenuating circumstances, we may issue discretionary refunds outside this policy. Such decisions are at our sole discretion and do not establish a precedent.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the content (newsletters, monographs, AI assistant outputs) without our written permission
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content using automated means
  • Interfere with or attempt to disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the AI assistant to attempt to extract personalized medical advice in a way intended to circumvent its educational scope, and then rely on outputs as if they were medical advice
  • Misrepresent your identity, age, or eligibility

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without refund where the violation reasonably warrants it.

Content and Intellectual Property

All content on the Service — including monographs, newsletters, protocol summaries, the AI assistant's training data and system instructions, the visual design of the site, and editorial choices — is the property of Vanguard Optimization (Crawford Medical, LLC) or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Members are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and read the content for personal educational purposes during an active subscription. Members may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the content without prior written permission.

Content you submit to the Service (such as supplement stack entries, feedback, or comments) remains your property, but you grant us a limited license to store, display, and use it as necessary to operate the Service for you.

The AI Assistant

The Vanguard AI assistant is built on third-party large language model technology (currently Anthropic's Claude). Its outputs are generated probabilistically and may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or out-of-date information despite our efforts to keep its grounding current. You acknowledge that:

  • The assistant is educational only and not a substitute for licensed clinical judgment
  • The assistant will not provide individualized dosing, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations
  • You should verify any factual claim against primary sources before acting on it
  • Your conversations with the assistant are processed by Anthropic per their data handling policies

We may modify, suspend, or remove the AI assistant feature at any time without prior notice.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any information on the Service is accurate, complete, or current.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Vanguard Optimization, Crawford Medical, LLC, or its officers, directors, employees, agents, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation damages for lost profits, loss of data, personal injury, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100.

Because the Service is educational and not medical, decisions you make about your own health based on information found here are your responsibility. We are not liable for outcomes resulting from your independent decisions about supplements, medications, hormones, or any other health intervention. Always consult a licensed clinician.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vanguard Optimization, Crawford Medical, LLC, and our officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with (a) your access to or use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any third-party right.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if continued provision creates a risk to us or other members, or if required by law. On termination, your rights to use the Service end immediately, but provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, governing law) shall survive.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Charleston County, South Carolina, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Before initiating any formal legal action, you agree to contact us at [email protected] to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Most issues can be resolved this way.

Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers, and the updated Terms will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after a change indicates acceptance.
